SHARED CINEMA
Plan a movie night with friends in VR
A shared cinema can make watching together feel more social. Bigscreen is one provider to investigate: its official Quest listing describes a virtual movie theatre and remote desktop viewing.
Agree on the route first
Ask each participant which headset or computer they will use. Check the current Bigscreen app listing and provider instructions, then choose content that everyone can access through the supported route.
- Install the official app from your device's store.
- Check which viewing mode supports the film or source you have chosen.
- Confirm any separate rental or account requirements for each participant.
- Try a short session before your planned start time.
- Use a private room for a personal gathering and check the provider's rules.
Access matters
Do not assume one person's streaming subscription or film purchase grants access to the whole group. For Bigscreen's documented social rental route, each viewer needs their own rental. Some services restrict screen sharing, and availability varies by region.
A black screen is not an invitation to bypass protection
If your chosen service does not support the sharing method, choose an authorised alternative or watch separately while talking. We do not provide instructions to defeat copy protection or broadcast films publicly.
